Specific objectives of the module:

1. Review importance of lifelong learning on gender mainstreaming.
2. Discuss European initiatives and projects in the field.
3. Promote interception of experiences and synergy of diverse initiatives and European projects on implementing gender equality in Europe.

SUMMARY

The module emphasises importance of lifelong learning in the field of gender mainstreaming, highlighting possibilities to analyse and gain experience from lifelong learning initiatives at community, national and European level. The module introduces some European projects, such as Political Education and Learning for Gender Mainstreaming Implementation, GEcel: Civic Education and Learning for Gender Mainstreaming, MENPART, DELOA, OASIS network (http://www.oasis-europa.org) and the European network of the adult education organizations working on women's employment issues (http://www.women-employment.lt/), etc. It emphasises the  importance of utilising these and other existing projects, good practices and networks for improving situation on gender equality in all spheres of life at community, national and European levels.
